Transfer Station Locations
There are transfer stations located throughout Chatham-Kent. Click on the links below for details on each of the sites; including hours, procedures, and what is accepted:

Residents that receive curbside collection can utilize all sites for the disposal of oil, scrap metal, white goods (appliances), car batteries, propane tanks (20-30 lbs. only) and rimless tires. Refer to each site for specific details.
E-waste is also accepted at each site. 

 Excess Waste/Fees
Residents with excess garbage or building material can deliver items to the Harwich Transfer Station or Wallaceburg Transfer StationFees apply (cash only).

 Items with Freon
If the freon has already been removed from the unit, and is property tagged, it can be dropped off free of charge at the following transfer stations:

  • Chatham Township
  • Dover
  • Harwich
  • Tilbury East
  • Wallaceburg
If the freon has not been removed, we can remove and tag it for you at the above noted transfer stations for a fee of $20.00 per refrigerant unit.
Items not accepted at Transfer Stations
  • fill - of any kind
  • sod
  • cement blocks 
  • bricks 
  • concrete
  • stones,
  • railroad ties,
  • dead animals,
  • sharps/needles,
  • paint, pesticides
  • any liquid industrial or hazardous waste
